I recently posted this reply to an old topic on Logitech's forum. It was prompted after I recently bought a new mouse (I already have about 8 input devices, but left the one usually travel with in London on my last flight to Istanbul) and every time I shop for new ones I start by looking for something that resembles the original Logitech Wingman Gaming Mouse. Always to no avail.
This summer I've invited a few friends over to Mugla/Turkey to set-up a new project studio. After a period of studio preparation we plan on a phase of song-writing followed by recording, mixing and finally producing sessions - all in the space of 16 days.
Gearbox have pushed the release date to Aliens: Colonial Marines back to autumn 2012. I'm not impressed. This is not the first time this has happened, I don't expect it to be the last. I vented my frustrations with this post on the gearbox forums:
We (Marjorie's Dead) performed an open mic gig at Caffe Concerto in the westfield's centre. Boy what a night, the standard was high all round.
Playing open mic gigs can be highly unpredictable affairs, there are such a wide variety of approaches. This was one of the not-so-common 'performers of a high standard playing to a crowd of people dining in a fancy Italian restaurant' kind.
I enjoyed a 30th birthday gift this weekend, when I went to Winchester to drive a tank - it only took me 8 months to book the slot! It was a great day out with a variety of driving experiences to enjoy; the quad bikes were were awesome - we had plenty of freedom to hit full speed in the fields - the looming Chieftain tank was a menacing sight, even in the safe surroundings of a field in Winchester.
I played at the 12 Bar Club on Friday with Marjorie's, and boy what a night! About 40 of our fans turned up, we packed the venue out and had people dancing all around. Thanks to everyone who came along, your support was really appreciated - the whole band was chuffed.
Anyway, here are some photos from the night:
(If anyone has photos from the night, can you please send them to me, Thanks)
I'll be working from home for the next few days, I'm due for a holiday but there's a lot going on and I won't have time to get through any of it if I'm away.
